Google Brings a Light Version Gmail to the Google Play Store

Google brings a light version of Gmail on the Play Store, Gmail Go. Similarly, as quoted Tekno Liputan6.com from Phone Arena, Friday (16/2/2018).

The Gmail Go app is present for Android users who have trouble checking emails due to limitations on their devices.

Until now, Google has presented a light version of YouTube, Google Assistant, and Gboard for Android smartphone users with 1GB of RAM or less.

According to Google, this light version of Gmail comes lighter and faster when accessed. Gmail Go also has the ability like regular Gmail, which is when categorizing incoming email, whether it's social, promotions, and more.

Meanwhile, NDTV reported, Gmail Go can run on a smartphone with a minimal OS Android Oreo.

Compared to the Gmail app, Gmail Go data sizes are much smaller than regular Gmail apps, which are only 9.51MB. The regular Gmail app is 20.66MB.

Support 15GB Storage Space

Thus, Gmail Go becomes lighter when installed on smartphones and data consumption is smaller.

Confirmed by Google, Gmail Go will get free storage support for up to 15GB, anti-spam features, and smarter inboxes.

For example, Gmail Go is able to automatically block spam messages using Google's internal data and algorithm settings.

Mark Spam

Users are also given the option to report new mail as spam or mark it as an important message and place it in the main tap.

Users can also add labels to their category. Gmail Go also lets users organize notifications, such as disabling incoming mail from social and promotional categories.

In a way, overall, Gmail Go experience is almost identical to that of regular Gmail apps.
