Whatsapp : New Features, Whatsapp Group Admin Can Add Description

WhatsApp will release new features for its app on Android and Windows Phone. The new feature allows users to add group descriptions.

This feature allows new users to know what the group's purpose was made or its activity before joining. This step is given to help new members get the context when they are invited into a WhatsApp group.

Ability to edit current group description can be done by all group members. However the admin group who can access this edit this description later.

The description will be visible on the chat page as a pinned box separate from the group info page under the group name.

The feature can now be tested in WhatsApp beta 2.18.54 on Android and WhatsApp beta 2.18.28 on Windows Phone. IPhone users still need to be patient to taste it.

Present in beta, not yet known when the feature will be officially released. Many people have been involved in this test.

WhatsApp itself recently tested the "Demote as Admin" feature. This feature allows the group admin to revoke admin rights for other admins in the same group.

Separately, WhatsApp also tests the 'Sticker' feature in the latest Windows Phone beta app. The feature is currently not available on Android or iPhone, and is still a hidden feature even on Windows Phone versions.
